Adelaide’s Jake Lever is the latest AFL Rising Star nominee after a performance that has earned him rave reviews.
In his seventh senior game, the 19-year-old took 10 marks and had 24 possessions as the Crows beat Gold Coast by 45 points.
The key defender’s disposals were at an outstanding efficiency of 91 per cent.
He also had 14 intercept possessions – the most by any player in round 17.
After missing all last season with a knee reconstruction, Lever was Adelaide’s first choice with pick No.14 in the national draft.
He returned to training in the pre-season and made his AFL debut in round seven.
Jake is getting better week by week – he’s going to be a 200-game player of this footy club,” said Crows coach Scott Camporeale.
“He’s a real leader. He’s a competitor and I just love the way he goes about it.”
