Adelaide vice-captain Rory Sloane has appealed to two star teammates to stick with the Crows despite anger at their erratic AFL season.

Sloane wants to remain at the Crows when his contract expires after next season and has urged Patrick Dangerfield and Taylor Walker to stay with him.

Dangerfield and Walker also fall off-contract at the end of 2015 and the talented trio – all aged 24 – are certain to attract overtures from rival clubs.

“I love Adelaide … and the club as well,” Sloane told reporters.

“I definitely look to stay and, hopefully, we can keep Tex (Walker) and Danger as well and all stick together.

“This year has been frustrating. Not making excuses at all, but we are still pretty young and the three of us are in the leadership group.

“The more we stick together, the next couple of years, the more we’ll learn.”

Sloane will play his 100th AFL game on Sunday against St Kilda with 11th-placed Adelaide needing a win, and three other results to fall their way, to sneak into the finals.

“So much has to go our way that we haven’t even been thinking about it,” Sloane said.

“Everyone is very frustrated and lots of us feel pretty angry … we all hope that we can still get given that chance to make finals, but we put ourselves in this position.

“The guys will be watching on and hoping and wishing we probably had have made it easier for ourselves and didn’t have to worry about all this.”

The Crows have lost six games by less than two goals this year and only strung together consecutive wins twice.

“We have beaten some really good sides which is probably the most pleasing thing,” Sloane said.

“It’s just those (losing) games under a couple of goals. We have been in situations to win those games as well.

“If we win a few more of them, our season looks a lot different … that is where we have got to get better as a young group, and as a footy club and as leaders as well.”
