Silly Season Style

Nov 24, 2014

With long Summer days inevitably comes long lists of Christmas party invitations.  Whether they be after work functions, after work drinks or casual weekend get-together’s there’s no need for outfit meltdowns or wardrobe crises.

There are ways for both men and women to look glamorous this festive season without breaking the bank, says Rundle Mall Stylist Tamara Nicole.

Tamara’s favourite on-trend look is relaxed tailoring which can easily be transformed from office to party.

“You can dress a jacket up and down with accessories. Roll up the sleeves and wear during the day with jeans, a t-shirt and flats for a relaxed casual look and then dress the look up for the evening by adding heels, a clutch and statement jewellery for that last minute Christmas party invitation,” Tamara says.

“A block colour dress is also another great option because it’s a blank canvas that you add accessories to create a variety of looks.”

Tamara also recommends wearing a comfortable heel, such as a wedge or platform rather than a sky-high stiletto, to get you through the celebrations.

“Men should also embrace colour this summer”, says Tamara.

“Add little pops of colour or opt for a classic, crisp white shirt and chinos,” she says.

Corporate suit-wearers work can convert to a more relaxed look for festive parties by swapping suit pants for jeans matched with a tailored jacket, shirt and dress shoes.
