Emergency services were called to the Somerset Avenue house at Redwood Park at 8am Thursday after reports that a woman had been found unconscious, but the 26-year-old could not be revived.

Major Crime detectives and crime scene investigators attended and police on Friday said that a man from the address had been arrested and charged with administering a drug of dependence.

He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.

Police said the man and woman knew each other and comprehensive investigation will be undertaken into the cause and circumstances of her death.
