The pair surged 3.3 percentage points to take the outright lead in the breakfast ratings by a huge margin.

Their talk rival – FIVEaa – is now a full five points behind them despite a modest increase in the commercial station’s breakfast ratings.

Abraham and Bevan started the year in a dominant position, before sagging in the middle of the year and losing their crown – briefly – to Mix102.3.

In the previous survey they were level with Mix on 14.5, but have pushed ahead in the past few months to once again dominate the shift. In this same survey last year, they fell behind FIVEaa.

FIVEaa, which has revamped its breakfast team to include Will Goodings alongside David Penberthy, improved its ratings by 0.2 per cent to move to second position in breakfast ahead of Mix, which lost 1.8 percentage points to sit on 12.7.

FIVEaa improved its ratings across breakfasts, mornings and afternoons, with morning presenter Leon Byner having a particularly strong ratings period to move ahead of the ABC’s Ian Henschke, who will move to drive next year.

The ABC had gains across the schedule, with strong performances in the afternoon, evening and drive shifts.

In his final ratings period before getting the axe, the ABC’s Michael Smyth had a strong performance in drive, increasing his ratings by 2.3 percentage points. Nevertheless, he still trailed Nova, Mix, hit and FIVEaa.

Overall, Mix remains the top Adelaide station despite a disappointing survey period, losing ground across the schedule.

ABC 891 has consolidated its number two position and moved within striking distance of Mix. Nova remains in third, with FIVEaa in fourth.

After some positive moves in the middle of the year, hit107 lost ground, while rival music station Nova stemmed some recent losses to reinstate its comfortable lead in the youth segment.
