ABC youth network Triple J performed strongly in the latest radio ratings.

FIVEaa, Nova 91.9 and Triple J lifted their performances and embattled hit107 stemmed its losses in the latest radio ratings survey.

However, the overall status quo was largely maintained with Mix102.3 keeping its lead in the ratings despite a marginal fall, and ABC 891 holding steady to stay at number two. Third-placed Nova narrowed the gap on ABC 891, with FIVEaa staying in fourth place despite increases across all shifts.

Triple J, the ABC’s youth network, leapfrogged both Cruise1323 and Triple M to become Adelaide’s fifth most popular station.

In the important breakfast shift, ABC 891’s Matthew Abraham and David Bevan maintained their huge lead over all comers, holding steady at 18 per cent of listeners.

FIVEaa’s breakfast team of Mark Aiston, David Penberthy and Jane Reilly put on a ratings point to lift to 13.7, maintaining second place ahead of the Mix duo of Jodie Oddy and Mark Soderstrom (13.5, up from 12.4).

Struggling hit107 remains near the bottom of the table, but owner Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) will be relieved the rebranded station’s ratings falls have ended. Overall, hit107 increased its listenership slightly and the breakfast duo of Amos Gill and Dani Pola (who announced she was leaving during the survey period), increased their performance from 5.5 to 6.2.

SCA will be less pleased with its other Adelaide station – Triple M – which was the biggest loser in the survey, dropping 1.3 points overall. Its breakfast team of Mark Ricciuto and Chris Dittmar dropped 1.9 points to hit a disappointing 8.4.
