A Satirist’s Journey

Amnesty International is a global movement of over 4.6 million people committed to defending those who are denied justice or freedom. It campaigns on a wide range of issues to protect and defend these human rights. The vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international standards.

Amnesty International communicates its messages many different ways, in many different countries and cultures.  In Australia, a quintessential way of getting a message across is through satire – it is powerful, thought provoking and generates further conversations. One of Australia’s best known satirists, Bryan Dawe, presents A Satirist’s Journey – a highly amusing and at times poignant story of where Australia finds itself in 2014.

This event is co-presented by The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre and Amnesty International.
