For the second year running, the University of South Australia is a Festival Partner for the OzAsia Festival. This partnership embodies the University’s commitment to celebrating cultural diversity and engagement.

Mooi Indie – Beautiful Indies, co-presented by Anne & Gordon Samstag Museum of Art

A celebration of Indonesia’s contemporary art, which is closely linked to the recent history of its nation and influenced by the social, political and cultural factors that have affected the artists’ communities.

In-Habit: Project Another Country,co-presented byAnne & Gordon Samstag Museum of Art
1 August to 3 October

Filipino born artists Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan create a remarkably imaginative and interactive installation that uses processes of collecting and collaboration to express ideas of migration, family and memory.

OzAsia Festival Keynote lecture: The Biography of a Coin, co-presented by the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre
18 September 2014, 6.00pm

Hear Professor Michael Dutton (University of London, UK) explain how the Mexican silver dollar, or ‘Eagle coin,’ travelled from the mines of America to the remote hills of China – along the way changing the way the Chinese thought about money, and arguably, helped launch one of the earliest futures markets, and the Communist revolution.
